The dark matter. It is more than we know.

What if I told you that the Universe, in all its vastness, is mostly made of stuff we can’t see or touch? It is true. It is there, and we don’t have any way to hold on to it.

This is the fascinating world of dark matter and dark energy.

Scientists believe that dark matter, which doesn’t emit or absorb light, makes up about 27% of the Universe. Hence, the dark matter.

We can’t see it, but we know it’s there because of its gravitational pull. It acts like an invisible netting, holding galaxies together and influencing how they move. Without it, galaxies would fly apart.

Even more mysterious is dark energy, which accounts for roughly 68% of the Universe. This bizarre force is causing the UUniverse’s expansion to accelerate. Think of it like an anti-gravity force, pushing everything away from everything else.

So the majority of the Universe is comprised of things we do not fully understand.  We humans think we are so smart. We often dismiss ideas that seem impossible. But I should remind you now.  Our Universe is full of matter that we cannot detect as humans.

The ordinary matter that makes up everything we can see—stars, planets, you, and me—is a tiny fraction, only about 5% of the Universe. This means that 95% of reality is something we don’t fully understand.

I don’t think this mystery is something to fear. It’s a profound invitation. It’s a reminder that even in our most advanced state of knowledge in our little human brains, there’s always something new to discover.

There is always a hidden truth waiting to be uncovered. It’s a beautiful testament to the endless potential of human curiosity. It is an incredible revelation that we are part of an infinite expanse.

And with all of that said. Halloween is approaching, and all those old, dead spirits with it.

Who knows?

You might not be able to see them, but there really could be someone standing right next to you in all that dark matter and energy.
