Grill Cook By Linda Stowe
This morning, I realized we get an extra hour today. I thought about how I might spend it. I could move to a cabin in the woods to get away from it all. No one would blame me, what with all the bad news swirling about. But then I thought about the logistics – no internet, rabid animals, getting my wheelchair stuck in the mud. Oh, and I don’t have a car any more so how would I even get there?
Instead, I spent my hour watching a grill cook prepare breakfasts. He had a camera attached to his head, so I saw everything from his point of view. It was like watching a ballet as he deftly cracked eggs, flipped pancakes, and scooped up hashbrowns. I was amazed by how easily he dovetailed tasks from several orders so that they all came together as planned.
This man is just one person among millions of people across the world who everyday put forth the effort to keep things going. Something to think about.

Polly here.
The ordinary work of people, just doing their jobs.
But is there any such thing as “ordinary” work? I say not.
There are millions of different “jobs” in this world, and each one is as important as the next. That grill cook. A firefighter. A politician. A car mechanic. Each person has their place where they are able to help the world. And they do. With their work.
We are all a part of this.
So many of the people in this world are just doing their everyday work and doing it gladly. All to keep this world working, spinning, moving.
