About seven years ago or somewhere around then, we decided to cancel our cable TV. To be correct in my wording, we canceled our satellite TV. Out here in the rural reaches of Preble County, cable television is not available for the majority of us.
No matter. It is nearly the same thing. We had numerous packages on our account. We mostly wanted to accommodate any friends or family who may stop by for a visit or a swim. Sports and movies were the main culprits. I say culprits because Direct TV would ladle on the charges at will. NFL. HBO. MLB. Showtime. On and on. By the time we waved goodbye, we were paying more than $400 per month to their wallets.
We could only move away from satellite when our internet connection finally reached acceptable speeds for downloading. Until then, we had false hopes of freeing ourselves from DTV. Anyway, I think we were one of the first ones to make the break. For the past few years, though, I’ve seen other people doing this all the time, so we are far from alone in the decision to stream all of our TV.
Once we dropped it, we found new freedom and tons of savings.
To be honest, we never missed it. In fact, we sometimes feel overwhelmed when choosing what to watch with our current setup. Yet. It seems we always settle on the same old things.
And when I say old things, I mean old shows. I find a lot of the newer shows to be the same tasteless bowl of porridge, just with different names and locations and clothing. Or lack thereof. And the majority of sitcoms these days aren’t one bit funny. Not even close.
Anyway. We only watch TV for a couple of hours in the evening. And even then, we are typically doing other things as we watch, like working, or playing games.
So here’s the big chance to share your likes (or dislikes)
What are two or three shows that you loved more than any others, any time, anywhere?
And what are any that are stinkbombs?

Cancelled the dish. Now it is a stream.
