What is a hobby, after all? As defined, a hobby is an activity done regularly in one’s leisure time for pleasure.
That leaves it wide open, I’d say.
I guess someone could have the hobby of squeezing fresh orange juice.
I suppose being a hound at the slot machine could be considered a hobby.
Driving a car.
Knitting.
Sitting on the porch.
Walking backwards.
Heck…
Eating M&Ms could be a hobby.
These are all activities that people might do regularly in their leisure time for pleasure.
At least, that’s the way I see it.
If that is the case, you can’t go wrong in selecting a hobby, so long as you meet those simple requirements.
And leisure is a relative term if you have an easy attitude toward life.
So there we have it.
If someone asks us if we have a hobby, we almost have to say yes.
I mean, we all must do something that we like to do.
We could start by adding breathing to our hobby list.
But, for the record. Here are the Top Ten Hobbies in the United States.

Of these, I would say that reading is my favorite hobby. The other ones I like on the list are video games and art. I don’t consider pets a hobby. They are my family, instead.
So that is me. What about you? Do you have a favorite list? Do you have a hobby that is not listed here?
Riding a hobby horse, maybe?
Tell us all what your good leisure brings you.
