I thought I thaw a big, old putty tat. At least I Sphinx so.

The Ancient Egyptians were quite an interesting group of people. I mean, so long ago, and far away. But a lot of what they did can be found in our very modern times — things like applying cosmetics, elaborate makeup, oils to keep their skin young, and a well-developed set of contraceptives. Even condoms. Well, they can be found in some people’s lives, at least.

The Egyptians also had a wide range of medicinal treatments and procedures. A multitude of cures from things of nature. Although, their life expectancy was only around 40 years of age. So.

The thing that most amazes me about them, is their mathematical calculations. They performed these in various applications throughout the culture, their lives. One amazing example is this. It is found in the sanctuary in the temple of Abu Simbel.

In Egypt, twice a year, each year — and this is current — “the faces of Pharaoh Ramses II and of the gods Amun and Ra are illuminated by the sun’s rays, while the face of Ptah, sitting next to the others, is always in the dark. Moreover, the two days of this phenomenon are the birthday of the pharaoh and the day he was crowned (October 22 and February 22).” (Science News).

They also developed an elaborate calendar system that they used to calculated dates, in combination with their math. The whole lot of this, is pretty much wizardry if you ask me.

The Ancient Egyptians had little gizmos, or should I say, big gizmos, all around.
Like the temperature inside the Great Pyramids of Giza. To this day, that temperature is a constant 68 degrees Fahrenheit, despite the fact that the temperature around it reaches 110 degrees F.

It gets better. The temperature in the pyramid is equal to the internal temperature of the Earth. Did this just coincidentally happen? I guess, perhaps, but I doubt it. It seems calculated, once again.

Then there are those Egyptians and their Sphinx. I always feel like Sylvester the Cat when I say, Sphinx. Anyway, it holds many mysteries itself. It is a big conglomeration of beings. It has the solar god Ra with its lion body and the pharaoh human head. It is a giant. And ancient too. The Sphinx is 4,500-years-old, made out of limestone. It measures 240 feet long and 66 feet high. Big kitty. They moved a lot of limestones to make that thing. Which is another amazing feat.

Finally, the great pyramid of Giza. It contains a world of mystery. Even if we only consider that is was built from 2.3 million blocks of stone. And, on average, each one of these weighs more than two tons. And, and. And. They had to be carved using simple tools.

No wonder people were dying by the time they were 40, what with all that stone carving, and hauling, going on.

These people in their time, show us another example of this incredible world, this incredible Universe, and all that resides here. All that has gone before us.

The biggest wonder, perhaps, may be all the things that will come.
