Life before the Internet

Life before the Internet. For me, the internet came right around the year 2000. Plus or minus two years. Hearing the buzz of that 14.4 Mb connection on the modem would widen the world in ways that I could never have imagined at that point.

We were like cowboys. Dudes on the ranch in the new frontier. We learned the ropes, little by little. And sooner rather than later, we were roping the cattle like pros.

Well. Maybe not pros. But learned little things like email, and browsers. I took up learning code right away. I wanted to create those pages that people were seeing all across the globe. I wanted to connect.

Today, I sit here. Oh, so very connected. All the time, it seems. And just like 25 years ago, I cannot imagine what will be ahead. On this great World Wide Web, as we so aptly called it, a long time ago,

Maybe the calendar will change in future years. There are AD and BC now in terms of years.
But they might switch it to BI, Before the Internet, and PC, Post Connectivity. Who knows how it will all unfold and at what speed?
