Sometimes, I wish I could transform myself into — excuse my terminology — but I wish I could transform myself into a badass.
I’ve mentioned this before, I know, over the years here in the Blogdom.
But. For the record, I don’t have an ounce of badass in me naturally. I mean. I’m tough enough when it comes to the everyday sorts of things. I don’t wince when I get blood drawn. I’ve overcome several injuries in sports, like broken bones and severe sprains. Heck, I fell on the ice this past winter and broke a rib and drove myself to the Emergency Room. I always try to get through things with a stiff upper lip.
But sometimes, I wish I could be a right fighter. The doer of good. Like a Batman or a Green Lantern. Where I could swing in and make things better, beat the bad guy, and get justice for the average Joe. And in the end, make their troubles drift away. I’d have the final say. Not the last laugh, but the final say.
Yet. I’m sure if I were ever granted these powers, I’d wind up like some dinky ninja fighter with weird orange tights or a goofy hat. And with that in mind, I don’t long for these superpowers too often. As they say, be careful what you wish for. For you may surely get it.
But even still. Maybe if I was a Superhero, I could stop this Coup that is taking over our country. As it is, I fear we are doomed.
