Parallel lines are quite a thing. Even the letters of the name suggest the character of the lines, with the double L. ll

(of lines, planes, surfaces, or objects) side by side and having the same distance continuously between them: parallel lines never meet
Parallel lines never meet.
I only bring this up because Donald Trump pardoned Roger Stone. Oh sure, I understand why. They are buddies. Pals. Trump has said so. Confidants. Besides that, at one point or another, Stone has given Trump an ungodly amount of ultimatum. A big pile of dirt on Mr. Trump. So as they both keep it hidden in dark places, Donald took Stone’s hand, looked him right in the eye, and said, “Roger, old pal, if there is anything you ever need. Ever….”
Well, that day sure came around, now didn’t it?
I mean, what kind of person would ever excuse someone CONVICTED for lying to the Congress of the United States, under a sworn oath of honesty?
Yes. Stone was sentenced in February to serve 40 months in prison for lying to Congress during the investigation of Russian election meddling.
Our country is being run and operated by a bunch of mafia thugs.
And here is where the parallel lines come into play.
There is a group of people who cheer and support this lying, this corruption, this misconduct, and degeneracy. They support Trump and all his dirty dealings.
Then, the group on the other side, does not support treason, deception, and crime. They will not bolster, cheer, and applaud Trump and all his dirty dealings.
Like parallel lines, those two groups will never meet. This is the state of our Union, which isn’t a union anymore. It is an embarrassment.
I learned a pretty strict moral code when I was a child. Honesty was the merit most repeated to us, over and over. My father, almost daily, would say, “Honesty is the best policy.” And of course, we were also infused with the seven heavenly virtues of Faith, Hope, Charity, Fortitude, Justice, Temperance, Prudence.
Most of them stuck with me. Pretty stickily, I might add.
It is for those very reasons that I am disappointed, shocked, abhorred — on a daily basis — by the behavior of our president. I can’t understand how so many Americans can praise these horrendous actions.
Roger Stone should be in prison. Instead, tonight, he sleeps with a gold chalice in his hand, filled with champagne, more expensive per bottle, than your car.
Ah. Another parallel line.
Enjoy your can of Pabst Blue Ribbon.
