The Early, Naked, Olympics.

In a nod to the Winter Olympics, in which the United States seems to have limped through the start, I give you this historical fact.

In the Ancient Olympics, athletes performed naked.

Yes. Completely nakers.

The athletes did this to imitate the Gods.

Here is the thing. I did not know the Gods were nakers too. This truly might disrupt my praying practices from now on. But I guess most people DO keep their eyes closed when praying.

In addition, the athletes shed their clothes while competing to help them easily clear toxins from their skin through sweating.

In fact, the word “gymnastics” comes from the Ancient Greek words “gumnasía,” which means — (“athletic training, exercise”), and “gumnós,” which means — (“naked”). To train naked.

Or. Naked Trains. Wooooo. Wooooo. No wonder they all whistle.
