The naming of the babies

Ever stop to think about how much our names actually say about us? Whether we like it or not, names carry weight. They come with expectations, assumptions, and sometimes even stereotypes.

I mean, with those stereotypes, look at how “Karen” took a big turn.

A name can sound a lot of different ways.  They can be strong or soft, modern or old-fashioned, familiar or far away.  And people often form quick opinions based on that alone.  We all hold different ideas about certain names.  Norman.  Cybil.  Donald.  Abraham.

Because of our names, teachers, bosses, and even strangers might make snap judgments before really getting to know us. And on the flip side, some folks say they’ve grown into their names. It is almost like their personality and their name found a rhythm together over time.

So, yes.  Our names might just shape how we see ourselves and how the world sees us.

Parents should give all of this consideration when the baby is in the cooker, .  I mean, do we really want to name our kids “Moonpie” or “Hopscotch”?

Not that long ago, people named their kids according to the norms of society.  These days, everyone wants a unique name for their kid, and they start spelling them crazily.  Like GeniFer when it used to be Jennifer.  Or Mikaal, when it used to be Michael.

Anyway,  I found some naming trends that are happening this year.
