The older thing. And that is good. Crrreeeaaaak.

Wouldn’t you know?

Most days, I feel like I am 25 years old. In my mind.
There are many occasions when I think I still have my 25-year-old body. But my body is quickly reminded that it is not as strong or as agile as it used to be.

Yesterday, I had my yearly eye exam with my fine eye doctor. In one year, my vision has declined.
I’m not hearing so well out of my right ear, either.

As I went through my daily exercise routine this morning, my neck started hurting. For no good reason.

Later, it came to me.
I might be a relic.

But living is good. And I am fortunate to have all my senses. And the fact that I can move and walk and breathe on my own.

So, while things may be getting a little rusty, I must remember that the oiling can is still working. And for that, I am grateful.
