The peace starts with us.

The world needs peace.
And guess what?  Peace starts with us.  Each of us.

The fact of the matter is we cannot bring things into this world that we do not have to offer.
Peace is one of those things.

Okay. Here’s the thing. Our world, especially our United States, seems to be in a place of chaos and disorder.  At the very least, it can be said that things are not going well.  Our government is in a state of turmoil, controversy, and conflict. Prices are still through the roof for everything from groceries to common goods.  There have been tariff wars and potential physical wars with other countries. It goes on and on.
We want it all to be better. We want to transform this huge situation into one of peace.  But we become disappointed and frustrated because any attempts to do so seem to go nowhere.

But again, I will say this. We cannot bring to the world what we do not have to offer.

Peace has to start somewhere.   That place of “beginning” is very small.  It starts in our own minds and hearts.  It doesn’t begin a thousand miles away, in a government building, or out in some sacred desert. Not, it begins in our hearts. And until we make a place for it in our own selves, we cannot manifest it externally.

Once we have found it within ourselves, then, and only then can we begin sharing it with the people around us. Our family, our friends, our community.  And yes.  The whole world.

For most of us, the first step is looking inside ourselves and honestly evaluating the state of our own relationship to peacefulness.

You know?  Those people who manifest peace internally also have challenges.  Just like us, they have disparaging thoughts and troubled emotions like we all do.

But. The difference is that they do not give any space to those things.  They do not give in and lend their energy to them.  So when they are hit with an onslaught of outside circumstances, they let those troubling thoughts slip away.  They don’t give them fuel.  They offer them nothing.  And, in that way, they are able to keep peacefulness within.

We all have this ability to choose how we distribute our energy. And the more we do this, the more we are able to grow our serenity.  We actively choose the vibration of peace over the vibration of conflict.

We need to focus on the strength and calm that we have within us.
Then, we find peace.
And from that, we can lend it outward to the rest of the world.
