Those illegal names. Mine is not. But what about you Tom, Sarah, and Linda?

Our names. They mean a lot to us in so many ways. And when parents name their kids, they want that boy or girl to stand out. But some parents definitely take it way too far.

Like these. Real things people have named their kids:
Jack Daniels
ABCDEF
X Æ A-Xii, Exa Dark Sideræl, Techno Mechanicus (Musk)
Metallica
Velvet Button
Dracula
Sheep
and on and on it goes.

But some names are illegal, believe it or not.

Every country in the world has slightly different laws when it comes to what names you can and can’t legally give your offspring.

These 13 sets of parents ran afoul of their nations’ governments with their wacky, cringe-worthy, and even untranslatable name choices.

In the United States:
King
Queen
Jesus Christ
III
Santa Claus
Majesty
Adolf Hitler
Messiah
@
1069

And around the rest of the world:
Chief Maximus (New Zealand)
Robocop (Mexico)
Sex Fruit (New Zealand)
Linda (Saudi Arabia)
Snake (Malaysia)
Friday (Italy)
Islam (China)
Sarah (Morocco)
Osama bin Laden (Germany)
Metallica (Sweden)
Prince William (France)
Devil (Japan)
Blue (Italy)
Circumcision (Mexico)
Quran (China)
BRFXXCCXXMNPCCCCLLLMMNPRXVCLMNCKSSQLBB11116 (Sweden)
Harriet (Iceland)
Cyanide (United Kingdom)
Monkey (Denmark)
Thor (Portugal)
007 (Malaysia)
Griezmann Mbappe (France)
Talula Does the Hula from Hawaii (New Zealand)
Bridge (Norway)
Anal (New Zealand)
Nutella (France)
Wolf (Spain)
Tom (Portugal)
Camilla (Iceland)
Judas (Switzerland)
Duke (Australia)

Some of these are suprising. I have a good friend named Linda. She would not be allowed in Saudi Arabia. And my other good friend, Monkey, would be a no-go in Denmark.

I suppose today, I am glad to be a Polly.
