Who knows us better than we know ourselves?
No one. Not really.
We alone hold that relationship with ourselves.
We all may have a partner or a best friend who claims to know us better than anyone else. But we all must admit. Only we hold the truths that lie in the core of us, from the start to the finish of each and every day.
Every thought. Every emotion. Every habit. Every quirk.
Do we drink pickle juice right out of the jar when no one is watching? Do we secretly like to kill bugs? Or do we wish that there were only a certain kind of person living in the house next door to us? Do we hate the color blue but won’t admit it in public?
No one walks through our thoughts, memories, or emotions quite like we do. We are the only ones who’ve felt every heartbeat of our fears and joys, who’ve heard the full weight of our internal dialogue.
While others may know parts of us, we are the ones who see behind the curtain. We know what quietly motivates us. We see our deepest doubts.
We look into ourselves. That kind of “seeing” can be both daunting and empowering. And maybe, just maybe, it’s the key to becoming who we’re truly meant to be.
