Has anyone ever asked you one of those “Would You Rather” questions?
You know, like out of the clear blue. Just like we did as kids. But these days, at a party, or just over coffee?
When we were little, they always contained a gross factor.
Would you rather eat a can of dog food or a rotten apple?
But as we get older, they get a little more complicated.
Would you rather be forced to dance every time you heard music or be forced to sing along to any song you heard?
Or maybe,
Would you rather lose the ability to read or lose the ability to speak?
All I can say, is I’m glad they aren’t real questions. Because some of them are impossible. But on the other hand, some are quite easy.
Would you rather your only mode of transportation be a donkey or a giraffe?
Hands down for me. Donkey. Easier to board. More comfortable to ride. Eats less. Doesn’t get tangled up in traffic lights.
Would you rather only be able to use a fork (no spoon) or only be able to use a spoon (no fork)?
Easy again. Spoon. You can scoop up anything with a spoon, but try eating soup or cold cereal with a fork? No way. Any spoon, any day.
Would you rather be unable to move your body every time it rains or not be able to stop moving while the sun is out?
It would depend on where I lived. Seattle, sunny moving for me. Las Vegas, Nevada, rainy stillness.
Would you rather be able to teleport anywhere or be able to read minds?
Teleport, for me. Germany. Bap. Back home and in bed by ten. On the other hand, I don’t want to know what people are really thinking. I think it would be too much for me. I already come to close to that now.
Then there are some which already resemble life.
Would you rather have amazingly fast typing/texting speed or be able to read ridiculously fast?
I can type faster than Cool Hand Luke can draw a gun. But I’m a slow reader.
And then, there is bread.
Would you rather eat rice/pasta with every meal and never be able to eat bread or eat bread with every meal and never be able to eat rice/pasta?
Oh, life and its choices. And how we do decide.

“In the end that was the choice you made, and it doesn’t matter how hard it was to make it. It matters that you did.”

“Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?’
‘That depends a good deal on where you want to get to,’ said the Cat.
‘I don’t much care where -‘ said Alice.
‘Then it doesn’t matter which way you go,’ said the Cat.
‘- so long as I get SOMEWHERE,’ Alice added as an explanation.
‘Oh, you’re sure to do that,’ said the Cat, ‘if you only walk long enough.”
― Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland
