I’ve been praying for peace.
Daily.
I don’t know that it actually helps anything. I don’t know how any of that works, you know,
out there.
But in truth it is all right here. There have been many people treading through this ensuing drudge for years, saying their good slogans, with all the best effort.
Things like,
Be Kind.
Stop the Hate.
All You Need Is Love.
But the hatred continues, now so, more than ever.
And now, in the United States, that hatred is largely based toward one another. First, we are humans, citizens of the planet. Next, though, we are a part of the places where we live. In this case, America. We should be on the same side here, working toward a common goal.
Regrettably, this whole entire mentality has shifted focus, from our sincere, and original, dedication to this:
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.
That all of us are created equal.
Now, it seems we have two halves.
One half says we have a right to our guns, so that we can keep enemies at bay, and away from touching our good and righteous religion.
And the other half saying, we don’t want guns, religion is okay, but we would rather help feed people and get medicine and care.
Now these truths are evident. The divide is deep.
To compound this, in unimaginable ways, we are on the brink of war with Iran. So many young American lives are now in harm’s way, as they board planes, flying directly toward even more hatred.
I pray for peace. Every day. I pray for help. It seems completely unclear how these situations will ever turn around. And yet, I simply don’t know what else to do.
Today, I’ll pray for the hatred to stop.
Today, I’ll pray again for peace.
Then, in my own place and space and realm, I will not hate.
I’ll only act in peace.
