The art of puppeteering. The illusion.

“A great deal of intelligence can be invested in ignorance when the need for illusion is deep.”
— Saul Bellow

We see this a lot, don’t we?

In politics. In our government.

Our legislators are wearing puppet strings, most of them. And the puppeteers are the corporations with the massive money. The ultra-rich who drive the world in the direction that is best for them. The ultra-rich want to protect their mounds of gold.

And. So. They control the puppets below them with magic money and promises to those political puppets.

Oh, those puppets. Our Congress people. Our politicians.

When their agenda is written, they spend a great deal of time, money, and effort into convincing the voters what is right for them.
Things like cutting taxes for the ultra-wealthy. (More money for the puppeteers.)
Things like cutting regulations that will keep our planet healthy. (More money for the puppeteers.)
Things like supporting fossil fuels and fracking. (More money for the puppeteers.)

Yes, Saul Bellow had it right.
A great deal of intelligence has been spent on ignorance, to keep the illusion deep. Put on your neato ball cap and follow along with the puppet show.
