I used to be a waitron. It was my second and third job each day.
I did this because I needed the money.
That being said, I relied on tips. Our wage was way less than minimum. So the tips were how we made our way.
You can not judge a person on how they look if they will be a good tipper or not. I’ll tell you that because I know from experience. I was the one being tipped.
Some were good. Some were bad. And there were the occasional “no tippers.” Consistently. They had to wait a little longer for their drinks from the bartender. I tell you that because I know from experience. I was the bartender.
All that aside. Service is important. Good, good service is important.
A person should earn their tips because of their service, right?
At a bare minimum, it should be good.
So.
Is it okay to not leave a tip when you receive bad service?
