Inch by inch. We don’t measure up.

Why doesn’t the United States get on board with the rest of the world and start using the metric system? 

You know. Raise our standards to the world’s standards.
The liter. The meter.  The power of tens.

Not the niner, or the twelve, or the thirty-six.

We could be finer if only we’d make the switch.

If a miner went down to get coal, he descended 300 meters instead of 984 feet.
Instead of being 5 feet 5 inches tall, I would be 1.68 meters tall.
If we sat at a diner and drank beer, we might order a half-liter of the drink instead of a pint.  Oh. Wait. People still have pints all over the world.
Uhhnnn…. forget that example.


But. It goes on and on.

In the end? We need to measure up.  I think.
