Trivia question: What is the name of the tallest grass on Earth?
Trivia question: Which is the most abundant element in the universe?
Trivia question: What is the hardest natural substance on Earth?
Here’s a hint to one of them. The three most abundant elements in the universe are the gasses: hydrogen, helium, and oxygen. In that order. Okay. This is more than a hint. But get this. Together, they compose 99% of the visible universe.
And what about Earth?
The most common elements on Earth are a mixture of gasses, metalloids, and metals. These include oxygen, silicon, aluminum, iron, calcium, sodium, magnesium, potassium, titanium, and hydrogen.
And finally. What about us? Our human bodies? All of us.
The four most abundant elements in the human body – hydrogen, oxygen, carbon, and nitrogen – account for more than 99 percent of the atoms inside of us. They are found throughout our bodies, mostly as water. But they are also in things within us, such as proteins, fats, DNA, and carbohydrates.
Elementary, Dear Watson. There you have it.
