Here’s a question for you.
What has been the best decade of your life so far?
This is a hard one, isn’t it?
I mean, for me, each decade held its highs and lows. When I was young, there was so much to discover and explore. I was adventurous. I was athletic and had so much fun in the world of competition. I thought I was invincible. I had big dreams.
As time goes on, though, we change from the people we were as children. We learn. Both good things and bad things. And we grow in the right ways and the wrong ways.
We hit milestones. We break rules. We find joys. And sorrows. We gather regrets. And we find magic.
As we get older and older, I think we reflect more. About the world. About our place in it. About our lives. We hopefully have learned a lot along the way. And while our bodies slow down, our minds expand. For some of us, at least.
So. To answer my own question. Which decade has been the best? I’d have to say it is the one I am in right now. For it is what I have. And I continue to learn.
Although, my twenties were pretty darn great.
