Well. Here it is, nearing the end of April.
You know what everyone needs near the end of April?
I’ll tell you. Cookies.
“What?” you say. “Cookies, Polly? At the end of April? Whatever for?”
Well, I’ll tell you this too.
You need cookies because your garden needs to be weeded, or because you aren’t going out for your walk today, or because you don’t feel like taking the car to the car wash.
I know, I know. What does that have to do with cookies?
Well, Christmas is the time we all make, bake, send, give cookies. We even put a plate out for Santa. And when we do this, I will remind you that it is only 14° outside, the winds are howling, and there are 3 inches of snow on the ground.
So, here we are in Spring when it is 75° and sunny. We’ve had it for a while, and now people are getting complacent about all this nice weather. Everyone was gangbusters when the nice weather showed itself. People were working in their gardens every day, and keeping their cars clean. They were getting out and going for a walk in the park and taking advantage of the nice weather. And now, at the end of April, all of that has become secondhand news.
You need a cookie to remind you of Wintertime and Christmas. And how blustery and cold it gets. So that you are able to appreciate Spring again.
