They just need to be thoughts. That’s all.

Here are some things that I’ve been thinking about. I don’t always get these right, but I believe they are important.

Some of our thoughts don’t need expansion. They just need to be “thoughts,” and that is it. Not every idea has to become an argument or a conclusion. Sometimes wisdom arrives within us, and it is as simple as that. That old quote. “I think. Therefore, I am.”

Another thing I’m learning is that stopping is not the opposite of progress. Sometimes “stopping” IS the progress. So many of us have lost the art of “pausing” and “noticing.” But “stopping” can give us the chance to become aware of the goodness that might be surrounding us in any given moment.

Being quiet doesn’t mean being empty. In fact, the “quiet” is full of things we forgot to listen for. Our good Universe is constantly speaking in incredible ways. But we rarely hear it , or see it, while racing from one moment to the next.

I used to rush past small joys. Now I try to notice them and let their goodness unfold in me. Little things. Everywhere.

Not every day needs a purpose. Some days just need our permission. Permission to rest. Or permission to wander. And wonder. Or just to piddle. We need to give ourselves permission to simply exist and appreciate. To offer our gratitude for all that is with us.
